Jean A. Gili is a French film historian and critic, best known as a leading specialist on Italian cinema. A longtime contributor to Positif and author of works such as L’Italie de Mussolini et son cinéma and Le Cinéma italien à l’ombre des faisceaux, he taught at the University of Nice and later became professor emeritus at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
